Valiasr Street or Pahlavi Street is a tree-lined street in Tehran, Iran, dividing the metropolis into western and eastern parts built in 1922 to 1927, considering the end of asphalt plan it ended in 1933. It is considered one of Tehran's main thoroughfares and commercial centres. It is also the longest street in the Middle East, and was reported as one of the longest in the world by former BBC (now Al Jazeera) journalist Rageh Omaar during the television documentary Welcome to Tehran.
The street was built by Reza Shah Pahlavi's order and called the Pahlavi Street. After the 1979 Islamic Revolution the street's name was changed initially to Mossadeq Street (in reference to former nationalist prime minister Mohammad Mossadegh) and later to Valiasr (a reference to the 12th Shi'ite Imam[citation needed]). This vibrant, hub-like street is lined with many shops, restaurants, parks and cultural centers are situated along this long avenue.
Valiasr Avenue is the main Shopping street in Tehran and whole Iran. Many foreign chain stores have branches on this street like Benetton Group (three stores), Reebok, Adidas, etc. Many important shopping centers of Tehran are located on the Valiasr street like the Tandis Center (located at northeast point of the street at Tajrish Sq.), the Safavieh Mall, the Eskan Shopping center and many more. Many luxury jewellery and accessories stores such as Rolex and Tag Heuer are located on this street. Furthermore, hundreds of other local stores are located at Valiasr.

خیابان ولیعصر بلندترین خیابانِ درختکاری شده تهران و همچنین بلندترین خیابان خاورمیانه با درازای ۱۷٫۹ کیلومتر است که از میدان راه‌آهن در میانهٔ جنوبی تهران آغاز شده و به میدان تجریش در منطقهٔ شمیران در شمال تهران می‌رسد. این خیابان به دستور رضاشاه پهلوی ساخته شد تا دو کاخش شامل کاخ مرمر در تهران و سعد آباد در شمیران به یکدیگر متصل گردد.(البته در زمان آغاز عملیات احداث خیابان ولیعصر ، رضا خان وزیر جنگ بود و اصلا پادشاه نبود) نام اولیه آن «جاده مخصوص پهلوی» بود و تا پیش از انقلاب ۱۳۵۷، «خیابان پهلوی» نامیده میشد. پس از پیروزی انقلاب این خیابان به «خیابان مصدق» تغییر نام یافت، اما پس از حدود دو سال و نیم و در پی وقایع خرداد ۱۳۶۰ و حذف مخالفان جمهوری اسلامی، این خیابان به صورت رسمی به «خیابان ولیعصر» تغییر نام یافت.
در سال ۱۳۱۸ سرتاسر خیابان از دو سوی آن با ۶۰هزار درخت چنار پوشیده شده‌بود، اما اکنون تنها بیش از ۸هزار چنار در سرتاسر خیابان باقی‌مانده‌است.
بسیاری از مراکز خرید بزرگ، پارک‌های عمومی، رستوران‌ها، موزه‌ها، مراکز فرهنگی و دفاتر ملی و بین‌المللی در این خیابان قرار دارند. این خیابان همچنین از کانون‌های سنتی خرید تهران است و بوستان‌های بزرگ ملت و ساعی در کنارهٔ این خیابان جای دارند. بخش بزرگی از خط سه متروی تهران از زیر خیابان ولیعصر می‌گذرد.خیابان ولیعصر در ۷ دی ۱۳۹۰ ثبت ملی شد.
